How it works:
This proxy detection service uses a variety of methods to determine if a provided ip address is a proxy server. We make use of the official tor dns system, and a variety of tools to try to accurately judge socks proxy detections. If there are any false positives, you can quickly add that ip address to you personal white list associated with your api key.
Why is this free?:
When I was looking for a service similar to this, the only ones I came across were either companies that charged ridiculous amounts of money for very few queries. And the few ‘free’ ones that I found were complete crap. So to save people the hassle of having to shell out massive amounts of money or create their own proxy checking script I provide this at no charge as long as you do not over use the service. You are allowed up to 1,000 queries per day, but requests for raising the limit are welcomed if you really need it.
